1. day – Zotter – Riegersburg
Immerse yourself in the world of chocolate! On the exciting tasting tour through the Schoko-Laden-Theater, you will experience live how chocolate is made. They see through the glass architecture into the production and can at the same time test out at snack stations how the cocoa bean is transformed into chocolate.
Pride and mighty Riegersburg perches on the 482 meter high volcanic rock, from which it overlooks the eastern Styrian hill country. In all the centuries of its existence, the Riegersburg could never be conquered. Today, the ascent to the castle is much easier, but always an experience.
2. day – Ölmühle – Lipizzaner
The oil mill Herbersdorf is one of the smallest and oldest mills in Styria. The employees ensure the excellent quality of Styrian pumpkin seed oil when drying, grinding, kneading and roasting. In the sales room you will find the award-winning Styrian pumpkin seed oil, Schilcherland specialties and products from the Genussregionen.
Shiny and colorful as far as the eye can see. The St. Barbara Church in Bärnbach is a colorful, happy, life-affirming church, designed by the master Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The tower, the roof, the façades, the golden onion and the golden balls are varied and rich in shapes and colors.
The Lipizzaner Stud Piber has the task of breeding the oldest cultural horse breed in Europe – the Lipizzaner – whose origin goes back to the imperial period to the year 1580. The heart of the Lipizzaner breed in Piber are the mother mares: They ensure the young and they are particularly special attention. Today around 40 foals are born each year in western Styria – and not with their famous white coat, but black, gray or brown. Only in the next four to ten years, they get the typical white, for which the Lipizzaner known, popular and famous.
